As a Corporate CPA, Business Owner, and Process Improvement Expert of 34 years, Tamara has helped many large corporations operate more efficiently and effectively. She has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan, and her 2 children graduated from there as well, her son is a biomedical engineer, and her daughter is a neuroscientist. In her 22 years of education activism, Tamara has become an education expert. She has led efforts on the national, state, and local levels to return our schools to truth and excellence. Included in her list of accomplishments, she co-authored bills to get Michigan out of Common Core, speaks to groups all over Michigan, and serves on the boards of Michigan Parents Involved in Education and Stop Common Core in Michigan. She has also been an active member of the Truth in American Education national network, and edited and endorsed the book, “Changing the Course of Failure: How Schools & Parents Can Help Low-Achieving Students.” For the last 12 years, Tamara has been extremely active in the Michigan Republican party, serving as a National, State, and Local Delegate, and earning overwhelming support as the State Board of Education Candidate in 2022, 2020, and 2018. She has served on the Oakland County Republican Party Executive Committee, and as Treasurer of Michigan Conservative Coalition and Michigan Conservative Union. She worked tirelessly to get President Trump elected after serving as a National Delegate in 2016 and was on the Michigan Women for Trump Leadership Team. Tamara has helped organize several conservative conferences, enjoys spreading the truth about the party platform, and has recruited and trained hundreds of Precinct Delegates. In early 2021, Tamara created the Michigan Election Integrity Network and was elected by an overwhelming margin by the Michigan Delegation to serve as the Michigan Republican Party Coalitions Vice Chair. Q. If you were not in your current role/endeavor, what would you be doing instead?
A. If I were not so heavily involved in education and political activism, I would be spending more time working for pay, with my family, and showing my 2 Samoyeds. My Samoyed Luna and I are a certified therapy dog team as well and we would be spending more time helping students, people with special needs, the mentally ill, and the elderly. I have always been a child advocate, from a very young age, so I would be helping children for sure. All children deserve to be provided with a great foundation to set them up for a great life, but unfortunately, many do not get that. My life has been a life of service and while I have not counted the hours, I am certain I have volunteered in the tens of thousands of hours in my life. One example of one thing I did in that regard is to wrap gifts for charity during all mall hours for a month from Black Friday to Christmas Eve for 6 years. In this effort, I taught my children, and hundreds of other children each year who volunteered, how to wrap gifts and how to run a small business. In the time that I did that, I donated over $100,000 to help abused and trafficked children.
Q. What has been the biggest impact in your industry or life in the last 5 years?
A. The biggest impact in my life over the past five years is most certainly the growing awareness by the American public about what is going on in our country and our schools. I have been speaking about these things for 22 years and things have become so bad many more people are now seeing it. I discerned these things when my children were in elementary school. I knew an indoctrinated and dumbed down population was a tool to take our great nation down…a national security threat. As a Daughter of the American Revolution with seven relatives that served, with many veterans in my family, and with my cousin being the Chief of the US Border Patrol during the Kennedy administration, I love my country and fully understand the sacrifices that were made to create it. As the awareness of more Americans grows, I feel strongly that we can keep our great nation, but those people will need to step up to the plate in a major way quickly and boldly to make it happen. The time for looking to others to fix things is over.
Q. Where do you see yourself or your business in 5 years?
A. In 5 years, I assume my 24- and 27-year-old children will have had children, and I hope to be a big part of their lives. I see myself also continuing to serve on the State Board of Education and advocating for children. Hopefully, I will do more of what I detailed in my answer to #1 because We, the People will have stepped up and brought our nation to a more stable place. One thing is for sure, I will never give up the fight for our children and our nation.
Q. Who do you most admire or are inspired by, and why?
A. I most admire and am inspired by Jesus. This is because I am first a Christian and work to follow Him in all I do. If we all followed His ways, life would be much better for all of us.
Q. What organization is top on your list to provide support?
A. I am funded by Mom’s and Dad’s, Grandma’s and Grandpa’s, and conservative groups. I do not have organizations or special interests backing me. I will always put what is best for children first and never be beholden to anybody.
Q. What is the biggest need in your business or organization today?
